Jake One - Home [video]

Yes, hip-hop is still worthwhile no matter what coast your coming from. "Home" was one of my favorites on Jake One's "White Van Music" even though it was one of the few tracks without big name guests. Something about it's laid back vibe and the 415 sample caught me instantly. "Damn it feels good to talk about home!" The video is the perfect compliment to a great song about loving where your from, a feeling I think we can all relate to.

2mex and the Returners - Powerless [video]

Check out the new 2mex and the Returners (Die and Deeskee) video for Powerless. The production values on this one are tight and who doesn't love a video with a monster in it?
Powerless is the first single off the album Break Up Your Make Up is coming out the Sage Francis imprint Strange Famous.

Incidentally, Eye Level Pictures who shot Powerless, also did a video for Ellay Khule and Joe's song Rock On, off of In My Own World.

Here's the teaser:

Updates / Maleko / History of la2thebay [video]

Our apologies for the lack of updates to the blog. Rest assured that we haven't been napping, but rather been hard at work, on some very exciting projects for 2009. It will all make sense in a month or two...

In the meantime, check out this video from our good friend Maleko. The coverage of all the old la2thebay stuff is classic.
